That changes with our Shield Series 4x5.65 filters, which feature an aluminum "shield" which not only protects your the encased glass filter, but makes it easier to handle and grip!

The Shield Series Filters feature our most popular FX filters & ND's.. but fully encased in a rigid aluminum frame that "shields" your glass filters from accidental cracks and dings & unnecessary fingerprints.
Built In Grab Tabs
One of the core features of our shield series filters are the corner grab tabs positioned at opposite edges. These make it easy to pull out of the included filter pouch & handle the filter while loading it into your mattebox.

Laser Engraved Markings
A shared pain point with many cinematographers is the lack of markings on the filter. The Shield Series features laser engraved markings on every side!

The Shield Series Filter is designed so you never have to touch the glass with your fingerprints! So as you pull this filter out if it's case, or hand it to another crew member... you can rest assured it will be fingerprint & smudge free!
FAQs
Can I take the Shield Off?
No, the aluminum "sheild" frame around the glass is permentaly mounted for added protection. Purchasing the shield series includes the glass filter fully encased inside!
Do I still need to use a mattebox tray?
Yes, the Shield Series filters are the exact same size of a traditional 4x5.65 filter. So you will still need to drop these into a mattebox tray to use!
Won't my lens see the corner grab tabs?
Nope, we've tested our Shield Series Filters on wide angle lenses and expirenced no issues!
Does this mean my filters are protected when dropping them?
Though the aluminum shield of this filter does help minimize the risk of small nicks, cracks, and scratches that are caused by handling the filter, our shield series DOES NOT claim to protect your 4x5.65 filter from sustain drops from high distances onto hard surfaces.
